Post Co-extrusion Tooling
The Post Co-extrusion Tooling enables online co-extrusion of rubber strips, which is more efficient and cost-effective than manual loading and online pressing of rubber strips. It is compatible with 35-25 single-screw co-extruders. PVC granules are dried at 80℃ for more than 3 hours, and the rubber strip life exceeds 6 years. For high-end applications, TPE online co-extrusion can be selected. Our company has 27 years of mold experience and can customize and provide technical support.
Advantages of Post Co-extrusion Tooling Technology
1. Post Co-extrusion Tooling is a core precision mold used in the integrated molding of sealing strips in the production of door and window profiles. It is mainly used to complete the co-extrusion molding of sealing strips online during profile production, replacing the traditional post-installation process. This effectively simplifies the production process, reduces production costs, and improves product consistency. It is a key supporting equipment for the intelligent and efficient production of door and window profiles and is widely used in various PVC door and window profile production lines.
2. Currently, there are three main installation and molding methods for profile sealing strips in the industry, with significant differences in process and cost. The first method is manual rolling of EPDM rubber strips, a traditional post-processing technology that relies entirely on manual operation. This not only consumes a lot of manpower and time but also has extremely low production efficiency and high overall production costs, making it increasingly unsuitable for large-scale mass production. The second method is online pressing of TPE rubber strips on the production line. Compared to manual installation, this significantly improves production efficiency and reduces labor costs. It is currently a commonly used mid-range production process for small and medium-sized profile factories, but there is still room for optimization in material and process costs. The third and most cost-effective mainstream process is online co-extrusion of soft PVC strips. Utilizing the integrated molding process of Post Co-extrusion Tooling, it is simple to operate, offers continuous production, and boasts extremely low overall costs, making it highly suitable for large-volume profile production orders with conventional quality requirements and a pursuit of high cost-effectiveness.
3. Regarding equipment compatibility, this Post Co-extrusion Tooling is highly compatible, and can stably produce using standard configurations of 35-25 model single-screw co-extruders. The co-extruder mounted on the forming table is the preferred configuration, as its structure aligns with the production line workflow, facilitating worker operation, simple debugging, and convenient maintenance, resulting in stronger mass production stability. Floor-standing co-extruders can also be matched with molds for normal production, although the operation process is relatively more complex. However, it can be flexibly adapted and modified according to the customer’s existing production line equipment without the need for large-scale equipment replacement.
4. To ensure the bonding strength between the strip and the profile and the molding quality, Post Co-extrusion Tooling requires strict adherence to raw material pretreatment processes before production. PVC granule raw materials need to be dried at a constant temperature of 80℃ for more than 3 hours to fully remove internal moisture, effectively avoiding problems such as delamination, cracking, and weak adhesion after molding, and significantly improving the overall bonding stability of the profile and the sealing strip. The optimized process produces soft PVC co-extruded sealing strips with excellent aging and wear resistance, and a normal service life of more than 6 years, meeting the long-term use standards for residential doors and windows.
5. For customers with high-quality requirements, our company has launched an exclusive upgraded Post Co-extrusion Tooling process—TPE granule online co-extrusion technology. This process combines the high efficiency of online production with the high-quality characteristics of TPE sealing strips, offering convenient operation and superior product quality, which is highly recognized by door and window manufacturers. Compared to the traditional online pressing-in TPE sealing strip process, the overall production cost is lower, offering a significant cost-performance advantage and making it the preferred solution for integrated molding of high-end door and window profiles.
6. Our company has been deeply involved in the R&D and manufacturing of extrusion molds for 27 years, and is a professional manufacturer of high-quality extrusion molds in China, accumulating rich experience in Post Co-extrusion Tooling design, process debugging, and mass production implementation.
